Configuring Android Phone for HawkMail
|Touch the "Email" icon:|
|On the "Set up email"
Then touch "Manual setup."
|On the "Add email account" screen, touch "Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync."|
|The "Exchange server settings"
screen will appear, but the settings will be incorrect.
CORRECT the settings as shown below:
|Slide the screen up to reveal the "Next" button and touch "Next":|
|If you get a security warning about a certificate, you can safely click "Continue."|
|Android will configure itself to the HawkMail system. Allow it to complete.|
|Adroid will briefly inform you
that ActiveSync will control some security settings (it
will display more detail later).
|The "Account options"
screen will appear.
You have the option of having various apps synchronized with the University of Hartford server. Leave "email" turned on, but turn off any apps (Contacts, Calendar) that you don't want or don't use (the fewer things you synchronize, the faster your mail updates will work, and the less "air time" you'll use on your data plan, if applicable).

Check the items you would like to enable, uncheck those you would not, slide the screen up to reveal the "Next" button, and touch "Next":

ActiveSync's ability to control settings on the device (University
of Hartford does not plan to enforce any such
