Once you've gotten your network browser working, and have dropped by the Download Depot to pick up some goodies, you'll need some of the numbers and addresses on this page in order to configure those programs.
NOTE: Most freshmen are assigned computer accounts upon registration. If you are not sure whether or not you have an account, search for yourself in the online email directory, or contact the Computer Support Center at 768-5999.
If you do not already have a computer account, bring your UofH Student ID card to the Computer Support Center, room CC113 and request an account from the assistant on duty.
Once you have a computer account, you will need to enter the account name into some software packages, such as e-mail programs, in particular. In the examples below, wherever you see yourname, you would substitute your computer account name (without the "@hartford.edu" part.)
Also, if you have not done
so already, make a note of the numbers on your network jack wall-plate
(it should read a number, "dot", and another number).
In the examples below, wherever you see wall-plate, you
would substitute these numbers, separated by the "dot".
Also, if you contact the Computer Support Center for help with
your network connection, they may need the address on your wall
plate.
