ASSISI - ROME 2008
The 2008 Summer Workshop in Assisi-Rome runs from June 11th - 23rd, 2008 . Our bus will meet the group at twelve noon at the Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) on June 11th and bring you to Assisi where we will begin our workshop. We will be in residence in Assisi for eleven nights, & in Rome for one night.
The fee for this workshop is $3,390*. This includes:
- All lecture/demos including Special Renaissance Techniques in watercolor, egg tempera, one day maiolica ceramic workshop, silverpoint, & drawing; Individual instruction in the medium of your choice;
- Supplies included are: a silverpoint stylus & prepared paper, all ceramic materials, and pigments for tempera;
- Faculty guided museum visits and entry fees, walking tours and excursions during our travel segment.
- All transfers & all ground transportation on our private busses. These include: Airport Transfers, Half-day trips to Arezzo, Montefalco, Bevagna & Spello, Day trip to Deruta, and Final one-night trip to Rome!!!
Accommodations:
In Assisi: a double room* with individual bath in a charming guest house
complete with private library, fruit orchard, garden and sitting area,
which overlook the tile roofs of Assisi.
In Rome: accommodations at an air-conditioned three
star hotel.
(*Double rooms are standard, limited singles are available on a first
come first serve basis for a $395 supplemental fee)
Meals provided include:
While in Assisi: Daily continental breakfast & plentiful 3-course
lunches which include a pasta course, entree, & fruit/dessert. In
Assisi the lunches are enjoyed family style in a neighboorhood trattoria
just steps from the guesthouse. Other meals will also be included. These
will be: A welcome reception dinner, A Special Spello Trattoria lunch,
a Deruta lunch, and a final gala dinner in Rome! Also included is our
famous Gala Wine Tasting, "The Wines of Umbria &Tuscany"
featuring Italy's most beloved wines paired with regional specialties
like fresh Pecorino cheese with truffles and wild boar sausage.
*Limited to a minimum of 10 & maximum of 15 participants. Air travel
to and from Rome is not included in workshop fee. Beverages
& Gratuities are also not included in workshop fee. Prices based on
double occupancy. Singles are available on a first come first serve basis
for a $395 supplemental fee.
