Professor Tom Morrison blends the academic discipline of Accounting with the Practice of Accounting in the real world. He has publications in THE ACCOUNTING REVIEW, MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING, the CONNECTICUT CPA QUARTERLY, THE FACS#CPA Chronicle, and an Accounting textbook, with reprints in THE CPA JOURNAL and various readings books. On the practice area, he has been the Managing Editor of the quarterly magazine of the Connecticut Society of CPAs, and is currently an editor of the FAX and Internet accessible FACS#CPA Chronicle. He has consulted with a variety of companies. His current teaching areas are Financial and Managerial Accounting, and his current research interests are in stock dividends and in activity based costing (as well as Just-in-Time systems).

Tom was born and raised up in Holyoke, Mass. (just up the river), graduated from UMass, served 2 years in the army, worked 4 years for Price Waterhouse & Co., and got his MS and PhD from Penn State. Since then (1967) he has taught at Penn State, UMass, UConn, and has been at UHart since 1989.

Tom married his college sweetheart (Sondra) in 1957 and had 3 daughters (Anne, Julie, and Barbara). He now has 5 grandchildren, 2 grand-dogs, and a grand-cat. He and Sondra live in Storrs, CT.

Tom says "My two great passions are teaching eager young students, and hitting reluctant golf balls. I hope the former do not become like the latter, but I wish the latter were more like the former."
