Process

First, you will need to pick your state from the hat.  Next, create a folder to contain all your research and resources. Once you've picked your state you will need to begin your research. You will become an expert on your state. You will be able to invite people to travel to your state for a vacation and give them places to visit. You will also be able to give information about your state to help people who want to live there.

You will access the on-line resources that I’ve identified below.

Each week you will have a record sheet to record your notes. In addition, you will also have at least one project to accomplish each week. Below is a list of the activities:

Week One:
Write a letter to the department of tourism for you state to request information about vacationing there.
Week Two:
Color and label a map of the state.
Research the population of the states in your region and create a graph to show that information.
Week Three:
Create a T-Shirt or Travel Poster about your state that someone could buy while they visit your state.
Week Four:
Write a persuasive paragraph on the post card to convince someone to visit your state.
Week Five:
Prepare your presentation of your state. You can use any or all of the above projects as part of your presentation.
Practice your presentation.
