Q. What are the swimming pool hours?
A. The pool hours are Monday - Friday 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Q. How is the pool cleaned?
A. The pool is cleaned with a Tarn-Pure system. For further information, please call the Sports Center Director's Office at 860-768-4650.
Q. What is the size of the pool?
A. There are eight lanes, each 25 yards in length.
Q. How often is the pool cleaned or checked for balance?
A. The pool is checked and cleaned every day between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and is closed during these hours.
Q. What is the temperature of the pool?
A. 75 to 78 degrees.
Q. Are there lap lanes available?
A. Of the eight lanes, five are always available as lap lanes. The other three lanes are for recreational use.
Q. What is the policy for pool use by children?
A. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by parents, guardians, or adult relatives over the age of 16 years of age and they must be closely supervised for the entire period of time during which they use the pool. A child must be 16 years old or older and must carry a current Sports Center membership card to enter the building unaccomopanied by an adult.
Q. Can I wear my shoes while attending to my child who is swimming?
A. All members in the pool area must be barefoot or wearing flip flops. Also, you must place all of your street clothes and shoes in the locker room before you enter the pool area.
