FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS-Memberships

 

Q. How old do I have to be in order to become a Sports Center members?

A. You must be 18 years old or older to join the Sports Center.

Q. How old does my child have to be to use the facility without my guidance?

A. The child must be 16 years old or older and carry a current Sports Center membership card to enter the building unaccompanied. If the child is under 16, he or she must be accompanied by an adult.

Q. If I am an alumnus/alumna, how do I join the Sports Center and what is the procedure for my spouse and/or family to join?

A. An alumnus/alumna must present an alumni card or diploma and a valid driver's license or other photo ID. If a spouse would like to join, the alumnus/alumna must come into the Sports Center with the spouse. The spouse may only join if the alumnus/alumna joins. The procedure is the same for family memberships.

Q. How do I, as faculty/staff join the Sports Center? What proof do I need for a spouse/family membership?

A. Please come to the Sports Center office and complete an application. You must present your current faculty/staff identification card and accompany your spouse/family for their inital sign-up. Full-time faculty/staff may join the Sports Center by payroll deduction or by paying in full.

Q. What proof of residence do I show to establish that I am an "eligible member"?

A. You must show two forms of identification: (1) a valid driver's license or other photo identification and (2) an alumni card/diploma, faculty/staff identification card or a current piece of mail for community associates (We do not accept leases as proof of residency.

Q. Can basketball season ticket holders join the Sports Center?

A. Yes. Please bring your driver's license or other photo identification to the Sports Center Office. Payment in full is required.

Q. Is it true that graduate and part-time students cannot use the Sports Center with their student idenification?

A. Correct. Graduate and part-time students do not pay the activitiy fee that undergraduate students pay. Graduate and part-time students may purchase a yearly membership in the Sports Center office.

Q. How can I pay for my Sports Center membership?

A. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, personal checks and cash. Payment in full is required for all memebrships, except full-time faculty/staff payroll deductions, which still require a deposit. There is a $20 fee for all unpaid checks returned to the bank.
