FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS-Facility Use

 

Q. Which parking lot do I use?

A. During basketball games, all members must use M lot, located behind the Sports Center. Otherwise, L lot, located in front of the building is available. People not affiliated with the University should receive a parking permit when they become Sports Center members. Those who fail to display parking credentials may be ticketed and/or towed.

Q. May I attend fitness and lesiure classes?

A. Yes. Please check at the Sports Center Office for a list of classes. There is a fee for these classes.

Q. Is it possible to rent the Sports Center?

A. Yes. Please call the Sports Center Director's Office at 860-768-4650. Please note, some restrictions apply.

Q. Is a free weight room available?

A. Yes. The free weight room is located on the second floor of the Sports Center in the racquetball court area.

Q. What is the dress policy on the basketball courts?

A. You must wear athletic-type shoes (no black soles) and gym attire. No street clothes are permitted.

Q. When is the basketball court available for open gym?

A. Always check the bulletin board located next to the equipment room for the open gym schedule.

Q. Are there television sets in the Sports Center?

A. Yes. The televisions are preset to the channels designated by management. They must stay on those channels at all times. If a member is caught using a universal remote or changing the channels, his/her membership will be revoked.

Q. What am I not allowed to bring into the Sports Center?

A. Pets, bicycles, rollerblades, scooters and skateboards are not allowed in any part of the Sports Center.

Q. What do I do if I am injured in the Sports Center?

A. All injuries must be reported to the supervisor on duty as soon as possible. The Sports Center is not responsible in any way for your injury if you leave the building without filing a report.
