| The Hartford's Playbook for Life is a national educational program designed to help student athletes and all young adults gain a solid understanding of personal finance fundamentals. The program was created by The Hartford as part of the company's philanthropic focus on education and its corporate partnership with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). From understanding the risks of bad credit to budgeting for housing and living costs, the Playbook for Life provides educational content about financial planning basics in a way that is engaging and relevant to its college student audience. Since its launch in March 2005, the program has been widely praised by students, coaches, educators and parents as a valuable resource for students and young adults. Students everywhere can visit www.playbook.thehartford.com to take advantage of the program's practical tools and resources, including interactive worksheets and video webinar, and order or download a free copy of the 33-page guidebook. | ||

| We will begin by outlining the important questions that those putting on an event need to ask themselves, such as who is the audience they are trying to reach, exploring the ways that this audience gets its information, and what kind of budget do you have for publicity? Once those questions are answered a strategy can be developed, and we will talk about how to develop that strategy. We will also talk about the use of new media vs. traditional media for getting the word out. | ||

| Americans are very cynical about the political system, not very active in politics, and complain about the nation's political leaders. But, our political leaders are only as good as we make. The purpose of this workshop is show you how to stop being a spectator and how to make your political leaders better. | ||

You will learn how to connect with others, communicate more effectively and ensure cooperative relationships with those with whom you interact. They will learn how to face challenges as a student leader with the pending outcome that help and assistance can be found in some uncommon places, each other. Leadership cannot be defined by the position you hold but by the convictions you have as a leader. In this workshop, you will learn strategies for creating effective speeches that get you noticed for the right reasons.
