- Richard W. Monroe has 17 years of industry experience with several
manufacturing organizations. This includes 5 years with Spalding Sports
Worldwide in Chicopee, Massachusetts and 5 years with Stanadyne Automotive
Corp. in Windsor, CT. He earned a master's from Western New England College,
Springfield, Mass. in 1990. He completed his Ph.D. at Old Dominion University,
Norfolk, VA in 1997. His dissertation research was supported by and conducted
at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.
He has co-authored an article in the International Journal of Educational
Telecommunications and has several conference proceedings for professional
organizations. These include the Southeast Decision Sciences Institute
Conference, the American Society for Engineering Management National Conference,and
the Society of Allied Weight Engineers International Conference.
His current research interests include supply chain management, logistics,supplier
certification, quality systems implementation, operations strategy and
the influence of top management backgrounds on firm performance. He is
currently teaching Operations Management at both the undergraduate (PRO
310) and graduate (MBA 620) level.
