Revising Your Reading Process and Managing Your Assignments

You can tailor your reading process to meet the demands of different texts and classes. If your typical way of reading produces as much frustration as comprehension, it's time to revise your approach to reading by revising your strategies.

Even the best reading strategies cannot be effective if you lack the time to complete assignments. Each weekend, get organized by checking the upcoming assignments for each course by considering:

  • How much reading will you have to do?
  • What homework will be collected? What writing assignments are due?
  • Whether you use a daily agenda, keep lists on scrap paper, or make a schedule in your mind, managing your time well is crucial for college success.
