Assistant Director, Staff Selection, Training, and Development
Welcome to the Office of Residential Life at the University of Hartford! My name is Jennifer Scaia and I am the Assistant Director for Staff Selection, Training, and Development. This is my second year at the University of Hartford and I am excited to continue working with students and Resident Assistants as part of the Division of Student Affairs. I am responsible for the paraprofessional (Resident Assistant) and professional (Resident Director and Complex Director) staff selection and training. In addition, I will be teaching EDG 310 in the spring of 2006 for those students interested in the Resident Assistant position.
My previous experience includes two years as a Residence Coordinator at Saint Joseph College, CT, where I also earned a Master of Arts in Community Counseling. Most recently, I worked for two years as a Residence Hall Director at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. I am originally from Simsbury, CT and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota where I was also a Resident Assistant.
My current professional involvement includes working closely with the Social Issues Committee of the Northeast Association of College and University Housing Officers, with a focus on women’s issues. At the regional and national level, I am an active member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
I am looking forward to another year of working with the residential community at the University of Hartford. Go HAWKS!!
