Irwin Nussbaum, M.A.
Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Residential Life

Greetings from the Office of Residential Life!    I am the Associate Vice President for Student Life and Director of Residential Life and I am in my 15th year here at the University of Hartford.  I have been working at colleges and universities since 1976 (longer than most of you have been alive!).  I have a Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina - Charlotte, and a Master of Education in Counseling and College Student Personnel from the State University of New York - Albany.   In addition to overseeing the residential life program, I also supervise Orientation, Parent Relations, Career Services, and WWUH radio.  Five years ago I started the Music for a Change benefit concert series and have donated almost $80,000 from ticket sales to local charities.

We have a terrific Residential Life staff, from the Resident Assistants to the Administrative Assistants to the Complex / Resident Directors to the Assistant and Associate Directors.... all of whom are here to make your residential experience successful and rewarding.  In order for us to help you have a great campus experience, you need to get involved.... and you can do this by attending residential programs, becoming a member of a club or organization, or helping to promote a positive community spirit.  We have learned that students who get involved are more successful both in and out of the classroom and develop skills that will serve them well in their future lives as productive members of society.

My staff and I will do all we can to help you have a wonderful experience here at the University of Hartford.  Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and rewarding year!
