Gender, Identity, and Society

Overview:

Professor Black teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Psychology as well as a course within the All-University Curriculum.  In her research, she primarily investigates how early attachment experiences with parents have long-lasting effects on how individuals feel about themselves and how they function in later intimate relationships. A secondary area of interest concerns gender differences in social interaction behavior and judgments of others.
