Professor Black teaches courses in Introductory Psychology, Statistics, Child Development, Adolescent Development, Lifespan Development (graduate), Parent-Child Attachment, and the Psychology of Gender in the Department of Psychology as well as Gender, Identity, and Society within the All-University Curriculum.  In her research, she primarily investigates how early attachment experiences with parents have long-lasting effects on how individuals feel about themselves and how they function in later intimate relationships.  A secondary area of interest concerns gender differences in social interaction behavior and judgments of others.
