Department of Politics and Government


The Department of Politics and Government at the University of Hartford offers and undergraduate major or minor. and public law. Politics and Government makes its graduates intellectually and ethically aware and encourages them to assume responsibility for the manner in which they are governed and spend their lives. Politics and Government strives to enable its students to make sense out of the relations that mark humans as individuals and as components of larger units.

Students who focus on Politics and Government gain breadth and depth in five subfields: American government, comparative politics and government, international relations, political theory, and public law.

Students majoring or minoring in Politics have an opportunity for small classes, individualized instruction and personalized advising. Many students study off campus, either abroad, in Washington semester, and/or in internships.
