Dr. Bernard den Ouden
Full-Time Faculty

Professor den Ouden has taught in the University of Hartford's Philosophy Department since 1969. He has received the Larson Award for outstanding teaching and was the Harry Jack Gray Distinguished Teaching Humanist 1994-1996. Dr. den Ouden has worked on and evaluated development projects in India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Guatamala and Dominican Republic. He has presented over 100 papers and or guest lectures in a dozen different countries. He has served as a Curriculum consultant in England, Mexico and the United States.

Dr. Brian Skelly
Part-Time Faculty

A member of the Philosophy Department for 10 years, Brian Skelly teaches a variety of Ethics courses and interdisciplinary courses. After receiving his B.A. in Anthropology from Michigan State University in 1981, Dr. Skelly went on to earn a graduate degree in Philosophy from the Gregorian University (Rome) in 1984. After that he returned to complete his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts in 1991.

Dr. Skelly is also founder of the University of Hartford Philosophy Club.
