This year (2009-10) we will try meetings at different times to maximize the opportunities to participate. The meetings are listed below from current (or future) to past meetings.

"How to Survive in a Rain Forest"
Dennis Wasko will describe his scientific explorations in the rainforests of Costa Rica.
Snacks and drinks provided. Future trips will be planned.

Thursday, Sept. 24 at 12:30-1:30 in 221 Hillyer.
Michael Robinson will describe the "extreme sports" engaged in by explorers of the Northwest Passage in the 1800s.
Pizza and sodas provided.

Tuesday: drive to REI in West Hartford for program on climbing Mt. Washington and gear needed.

Movie: "Moving on Stone" is about rock climbing techniques and has nice videos of different types of climbing. We will also view some slides of rock gyms and practice knot tying in preparation for a rock gym trip later in the week. Other trips will be planned, such as skiing (?).
