350 degree oven Time: 55 minutes to 1 hour Grease loaf pan
If you use a Pyrex dish, oven should be 325 degrees.

Ingredients

1. - 3 cups flour
2. - ¼ teaspoon baking soda
3. - 2 teaspoons baking powder
4. - ¾ cup sugar
5. - 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
6. - 1 stick butter
7. - 1 cup raisins
8. - 2 beaten eggs
9. - 1 cup milk

Directions:

Mix together butter and dry ingredients. It will look crumbly. Add beaten eggs and milk. Add raisins. Mix well with spoon – it will be thick – until wet but not smooth.
Cool before removing from pan.
I also used greased muffin tins. Muffin papers really don’t work with this recipe. They cook faster, maybe 25 minutes or so- you will have to check on them. They are wonderful with jam and butter. Freezes great.
This recipe is from Myla Egan, a very old friend of mine. Her husband was from Ireland and his mother made this recipe when he was a child.
