Module 2

Jigsaw Experiments (weeks 5-8) are transitional exercises that contain some design components. The Jigsaw has defined objectives; however, some instructions are intentionally left out leaving student teams to synthesize the set up and data collection to successfully acquire relevant and meaningful data. Although the experimental goal is given, the task of filling in the missing pieces is the challenge. A properly designed jigsaw is carefully crafted so students can complete the work in the time available, usually two weeks. For many students, this is their first experience where completing an experimental set up must be done before the experiment can be performed.
