The University of Hartford's Study Abroad Office offers a number of Winter and Summer Study Abroad Opportunities to our students.  Please contact the Program Administrator for all the details of the program that interests you.

The great thing about these programs is they are offered by our faculty for our students. You will earn University of Hartford credit.  Take a look at these upcoming programs!

 

2009 WINTER PROGRAMS

 

Theatre Course in Italy

See important landmarks in the origin and development of theatre. Study dramatic literature of the classical period, the Renaissance, and the 18th century. Visit Rome, Florence, Siena, Verona, and Milan. Students will earn 6 credits from the following: AUCW 175, AUCA 175, DRA362(ENG368), DRA330(ENG330), or HUM 190. January 3 - 18, 2009. Contact Henry Fonte, 860.768.5672 or hfonte@aol.com. Price of $4172 includes scheduled excursions, entrance fees, housing and 2 group meals.  $1000 deposit due with application on June 15, 2008. Details of course subject to change.

 

Human Rights Course in Prague

Study abroad in Prague this winter & earn 6 credits!

Oppression, Resistance & Human Rights: Political and Philosophical perspectives in Prague, Czech Republic - January 3-18

Study human rights in Eastern Europe from World War II to the present from a philosophical and political perspective. Visit Prague Castle and the Jewish Ghetto, visit Theresienstadt concentration camp, and talk with politicians and thinkers from Eastern Europe.  Students will choose six credits from the following: AUCS 110 Sources of Power; AUCW 180 Western Heritage; POL 383, 483; or PHI 470, 471 (Independent Studies).

Price- $4,896 includes tuition, housing, excursions, and some group meals.

$1,000 deposit due with an application by October 30th. Final payment due December 1st.

2009 SUMMER PROGRAMS

 

Literary Course in England

Study abroad in England this summer & earn 6 credits!

Discovering Britain - May 23- June 10

Study 18th and 19th century England through Literary Imagination! Explore Bath, the Lake District and London while comparing city and country, agriculture and industry, and aristocracy and the middle class.

Students will earn 6 UH credits by choosing from the following courses: AUCA/AUCW 170: Discovering Britain, or ENG 380 or 381: Independent Study.

Price- approximately $5,500 includes tuition, housing, excursions, some group meals, and MEDEX insurance.

$1,000 deposit due with an application by February 1st. Final payment due March 1st.
