Many Study Abroad Events Planned for Spring

 

Join the Study Abroad Office for a wide range of events throughout the spring semester.  Below is a schedule of events for students interested in studying abroad. Opportunity awaits you..... don't miss out!



Study Abroad 101 Info Sessions: These sessions cover essential study abroad information and will walk you through all the basic steps you need to consider in selecting the program most appropriate for your needs and interests. Topics include: determining eligibility, when to go abroad, academic policies, application process, cost and financial aid. Students only need to attend one session. 101s are mandatory for all students who are planning to study abroad. Dates and times for the spring semester are as follows:

Study Abroad Lunches with Alumni
Oct. 13 and Nov. 8

Come learn what it is REALLY like to study abroad from UofH students who have already done it! Join us for lunch and a roundtable discussion and get all your questions answered by study abroad alumni. Free lunch will be provided.


Study Abroad Alumni Career Workshop (for study abroad alumni)
Oct. 18, 12:30-1:30 p.m., A421
This doesn’t have to be it! Join representatives from the Study Abroad Office and Career Services to learn how you can get abroad again through teaching, studying, working, and volunteering abroad. Learn about opportunities that exist for you before and after graduation, as well as how to capitalize on your international experiences to help you land that first job. Lunch will be provided.



Study Abroad Fair
March 24th, 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 PM, GSU Suisman Lounge
Have you ever wanted to study Spanish in Costa Rica, engineering in Ireland, film in England, or politics in South Africa? Come learn about all the opportunities that are available to you! Choose from over 80 countries around the world.



International Week  March 21st- 26th, UH campus:  Join us in a week full of international activities and events! 

 

Global Ambassadors Club
Sept. 8, Sept. 29, Oct. 20, Nov. 10 and Dec. 1
12:30- 1:30 p.m.
Global Ambassadors brings together international and U.S. students from all backgrounds. Meetings, games and activities held throughout the semester. Make new friends while learning about the world! Contact Susan Carey for more information.


Spanish Club: Español Para Todos
Nov. 3, 12:30-1:30 p.m., A421

The UHA Spanish Club, ‘Español Para Todos
’, is back this spring!  Come take a break, practice your Spanish conversation and make new friends!  You don’t have to be fluent to join in the fun.  This program is offered in collaboration with the Study Abroad Office, Dept. of Modern Languages and Naciones Hispanas Unidas (NHU).  For more information, contact: sucarey@hartford.edu
