The following are steps in a typical Human Subject Committee research proposal review:
- Review the HSC web site including reading the manual
- Complete the Proposal Transmital Form (along with your proposal and appropriate supporting documents) available in the resource depot of this web site
- Complete training or show evidence of training on the protection of human subjects in research
- Submit all forms and documents in person (no electronic submissions) to HSC chair
- HSC reviewer reviews proposal
- Proposal requiring full committee review will be reviewed according to our monthly meeting schedule
- HSC might require clarifications
- HSC approve or decline proposal
- Research that spans longer than 6 months (approval to publication) will require submitting 6-month updates, which must be returned to the chair prompty
