Welcome to the official web page of the University of Hartford's Human Subjects Committee.
The Human Subjects Committee at the University of Hartford is charged with the ethical review and oversight of research that involves the participation of human subjects. The complementary concerns of the Human Subjects Committee are to protect the individual from harm and to support the advancement of ethics in science.
We trust that you will find this web site resourceful. We strongly encourage you to review the requirements/process and general FAQ sections of this site as they may answer many of your questions regarding human subjects. The committee meets monthly to review proposals. Every year, the HSC is in recess for the month of August and during the Winter Break.
A new Human Subjects Training Program has been initiated by the University of Hartford. We are now members of the CITI Program for the Protection of Human Research Subects. Starting December 2011, every researcher will need to provide CITI proof of human subjects training. Information about the CITI program can be found on the training page of this website.
