I Teach Good and I Done Got Proof!
Yesterday, at the university's Faculty/Staff Kickoff, I received an Award for Innovations in Teaching and Learning, and I won it for my work with blogs. I have to say that it was humbling to receive the award because a colleague nominated me and got students to write letters of support on my behalf. All I had to do was write a one page teaching philosophy after she did the rest of the work. Here I am with our new provost, another winner of the award, and our university's Distinguished Teaching Humanist (who happens to have been the chair of the search committee that hired me!). Yep, nice timing before I turn in that little tenure thing in two weeks.
