The regular meeting of the University of Hartford College Panhellenic was called to order by the President, Morgan Skinner, on November 5, 2009 at 12:31pm in Gengras Student Union.
Persons in Attendance: Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Phi Mu, Sigma Delta Tau, Sigma Kappa.

Vice President of Activities:

Vice President of Recruitment:
• Recruitment counselor applications are available downstairs in the Greek Life office, and are due next Thursday, November 12, 2009. Rhochi interviews will be from November 16-November 19. We will be accepting 6-10 new counselors.
Vice President of Finance and Philanthropy:
• Chapter dues are due today.
• Your next 5 hours will be due next Thursday, November 19. I still need Sigma Kappa’s first 5 hours.
• Reminder: SDT’s Road Rally is this Sunday.
• I know there have been a few questions about Up ‘til Dawn. Everyone who is on your participating roster MUST be there at some point. You only need 35 addresses if you want to be entered in the raffles. You will be required to have your own return address labels.
Vice President of New Members:
• Just a reminder of the RAD dates for chapters’ new member classes: Delta Gamma and Delta Zeta will attend classes November 6-8, and Alpha Xi Delta, Phi Mu, and Sigma Kappa will attend classes November 13-15. Friday and Saturday classes will be from 4-8pm, and Sunday’s class will be from 12-4pm.
• If any of your new members cannot attend required events (Greek 101, RAD) they must submit excuse forms to the Greek Life office.

Alpha Xi Delta:
• We had a sisterhood dinner on Tuesday.
• We have sister lunch following Panhel.
• We have a nutrition program today at 7:30pm with Alpha Sigma Phi.
• We will be participating in SDTs’ Road Rally this Sunday.
Delta Gamma:
• Our big/little reveal is this weekend.
• We are decorating dog bowls for our philanthropy.
• We’re looking forward to Up’Til Dawn and participating in SDTs’ Road Rally this weekend.
• We have sister lunch following Panhel.
Delta Zeta:
• We had our big/little reveal on Tuesday night.
• We had a sisterhood event on Friday.
• We are excited for the Up ‘Til Dawn letter sending event on Sunday.
Phi Mu:
• Our semi-formal is this Saturday.
• We are in the middle of our big/little week.
• Our Blankets for Babies event is Tuesday, November 10 at 7pm in south café.
• We are looking forward to Up’Til Dawn.
• Our sisterhood retreat is next weekend.
• We had sister bunch on Sunday and sister dinner on Wednesday.
• We have sister lunch following Panhel.
Sigma Delta Tau:
• We have a cupcake sale going on now.
• Our Road Rally is this weekend; if you haven’t signed up yet and would still like to, please let us know.
• We will be attending Up ‘Til Dawn.
• Our consultant is coming on Monday.
• We have sister lunch following Panhel.
Sigma Kappa:
• We are looking forward to the Road Rally and Up ‘Til Dawn on Sunday.
• Our advisors are coming to visit on Saturday.
• We are putting the final touches on our Ultraviolet campaign.
• We have chapter elections on November 10.

• If you have your updated and completed chapter rosters, please hand them in to me.
• I still need to meet with the chapter Presidents, so if you have no yet met with me please make sure you make an appointment soon to do so.

1. Kenna Grant
• Works with Public Safety and the RAD program.
• I would just like to stress the importance of attending these classes. They teach you the basic self defense moves, and could provide you with the opportunity to learn what it takes to defend yourself. The class is informative and fun, and I’m just stressing how important it is for young girls to take this class.
• We are working on a curriculum for the men.
2. Sigma Kappa
• We are working on our Ultraviolet campaign and proceeds will go to Altzheimer’s research.
• The campaign will be December 6 in Gengras café. It will be a carnival, and if you would like to have a booth in the carnival, please let us know.
3. Kasey
• Student Government Association.
• We will be having a 5k Turkey Trot on November 15. Registration starts at 10:30am at the sports center. If you pre-register you are guaranteed a long sleeve shirt.
• The trot costs $5 or 2 canned goods.
• The proceeds will go towards providing Thanksgiving dinners for the needy.
• If 10% of your chapter participates, you will receive 1 hour towards the competition.
4. Blankets for Babies
• Blankets for Babies will be on Tuesday, November 10 at 7pm in south café.
• We are asking for 10 people from each chapter to participate, and we are asking for a $25 dollar donation.
• The blankets will be given to the babies in the intensive care unit at St. Francis.
5. SDT
• Our Road Rally will be this Sunday, November 8 at 1pm.
• If you haven’t signed up yet and would still like to, please let us know.
• We will be sending out an e-mail to those who have signed up with the rules and the teams.

Persons in Attendance: Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Phi Mu, Sigma Delta Tau, Sigma Kappa.

President
• The women’s and men’s basketball coaches have approached us as to why students do not go to the games. We will be meeting with them soon to discuss ways to get students motivated to attend basketball games. If you have any ideas or would like to be on the committee, please see me after the meeting.
Vice President of Activities:
• I have 12 complimentary tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure. They expire on Sunday, so if you would like them please come see me.
Vice President of Recruitment:
• Recruitment counselor applications will be available in the Greek Life office starting on Tuesday, and they will be online as well. They are due no later than November 12, 2009.
Vice President of Finance and Philanthropy:
• Chapter dues are due today, however I forgot to mention it at last weeks meeting, so if you did not remember them, you can still bring them next week.
• Delta Gamma and Delta Zeta have money in the Greek Life account from Howie’s Helpers; if those chapters would like to use that money towards a deduction on their dues, please let me know.
• December 1, 2009 is World Aids Day. There will be a walk around campus. There will be more information to follow.
• Your next 5 service hours are due on November 19, 2009.
• I still need Sigma Kappa’s first 5 hours.

• We want to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween.
Delta Zeta:
• We had a game night for our senior turtle talk on Saturday.
• Our Sister Auction is November 12, 2009 from 7-9pm.
• We had a tabling fundraiser this week.
• We are planning a sisterhood event on Friday.
• We hope everyone has a great Halloween.
Phi Mu:
• Blankets for Babies is November 10, 2009 from 7-8:30pm.
• We had a fundraiser Tuesday night.
• Big/little is next week.
• We have a team builder next Wednesday.
• Our semi-formal will be November 7, 2009.

Sigma Delta Tau:
• We are getting excited for our Road Rally.

Sigma Kappa:
• This weekend we are going around to the local neighborhoods to raise money for UNICEF.
• We met with Sunrise Assisted Living in hopes to be more involved with their volunteer program.
• We have a sister lunch on Halloween.
Advisor Report:
• CAT is forming their Spring Fling committee and would like a sorority representative. If anyone is interested in helping in the planning of Spring Fling, please e-mail me at cusack@hartford.edu.
• Thank you for sending me your chapter rosters. However we need a little bit more information such as ID numbers and graduation dates. I’m handing back your rosters so you can just add that information. And please, no nicknames. (I.e. Sammie= Samantha).
• I haven’t yet met with all of the chapter presidents so if I have not met with you, please e-mail me to set up an appointment.

• Felecia Bumpus
o December 1, 2009 is World AIDS Day. It begins at 12:30pm in Suisman lounge. There will be a symbolic walk around the academic side and it will only take about 5 minutes. If you make the walk, you will get a limited edition t-shirt, hot chocolate, and red cupcakes and cookies. The night before there will be a movie night before we decorate the trees with red ribbons. Also, after the walk there will be panel discussions and it WILL count towards the sorority competition.
o Reminder: ALL NEW MEMBER CLASSES MUST BE INITIATED BY DECEMBER 3, 2009.
• Emma, Community Service office
o We will be having a Turkey Bowl on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10pm-1:30am. This includes unlimited games and shoes. It will cost $17 a ticket and you can buy them from gengras 209 starting on Monday, our office hours are from 9am-4pm. There will be transportation for those needing it. The shuttle will pick students up outside of the Hartt School at 9:30pm. You are welcome to bring a guest, however you must purchase a ticket for them as well. If you can get 10% of your chapter there you will receive 20 hours towards the competition.
• Kevin Blohm, Sigma Nu:
o Presented Delta Zeta with flowers for their Founder’s Day.
• Lindsey Jaffe, Sigma Delta Tau:
o If you have sign-ups for our Road Rally, please hand them in.
• Dana Cohen, Delta Gamma:
o Our recycling competition will be at the November 17th basketball game. Your will receive one hour of community service for participating, and if you win you will receive two hours. Please e-mail me your teams at dancohen@hartford.edu
• Phi Mu:
November 10, 2009 at 7pm will be our Blankets for Babies fundraiser. We are asking for each chapter to have a team of 5 people, and for a $25 donation.
