James Vivian Picture
Dr. Vivian joined the faculty of the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology (GIPP) in the Fall of 2007. He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology and has formerly been a tenured asssistant professor at Elms College in Chicopee (MA) from 1993 to 1999, as well as the Director of Research/Project Director at Health Services of the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow (MA) from 1999 2001. He also worked as the Senior Research Scientist at the Hispanic Health Council in Hartford (CT) and has worked in the psychology department of the University of Hartford as a full-time visiting professor from 2005-2007. Dr. Vivian's research interests are substance abuse, group and intergroup processess, prejudice and intergroup conflict, public policy and research methods.
