Anne Pidano
Anne PIdano PictureDr. Pidano earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Smith College and, after her academic training at SUNY Albany, completed an internship in clinical psychology at the University of Virginia Hospital As a new Ph.D., her first job was at Convalescent Hospital (now Crestwood Children’s Center) in Rochester, NY. From there she moved on to spend five years at Genesee Valley Group Health as a staff psychologist and Chief of Service for Mental Health. Her experience at GVGH initiated a long term interest in collaboration among mental health and medical professionals.

In 1986 she returned to New England and worked for over 19 years at the The Village for Families and Children in Hartford, first as Program Director and Vice President of Child Guidance Services and then as Director of Psychology Internship Training. She is licensed as a psychologist in Connecticut and spent many years supervising both interns and staff at the Village.

Although Dr. Pidano was an adjunct/affiliate faculty member at the Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology since 1995, the 2005-2006 academic year marked her initial full-time involvement with the program. She was delighted to be appointed to the faculty and to continue her involvement with the GIPP community.

Currently, her research is focused on these areas: the intersection of pediatric primary care and behavioral health, doctoral training in clinical child psychology, and evidence-based interventions for young children.
