- Now used more than any other projection for accurate mapping.
- Divides Earth into 60 pole to pole zones, 6 Degrees of longitude in width,
- Zone numbering begins at the International Dateline (180 degrees West, and extends east to 174 Degrees West.
- Contiguous US falls in zones 10 to 19.
