Biographical Sketch

Erol Gelenbe, Imperial College, London

Erol Gelenbe holds the Dennis Gabor Chair at Imperial College (London) where he works on projects supported by EPSRC (UK) and the Ministry of Defence. Gelenbe is interested in self-awareness and adaptation in computer systems and networks, with the objective of improving Quality of Service and Performance. Previously he was Director of the School of EECS at the University of Central Florida, after having occupied an endowed chair at Duke University as Professor of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Experimental Psychology. In recent years he has been funded by ARO, US Army Stricom, NSF, ONR and other agencies. He is a Fellow of ACM, IEEE and IEE and the author of four books which have apeared in English, French, Japanese and Korean, and of numerous journal papers.
