Instructions for Adding Blackboard to your list of Trusted Web Sites
As part of a windows critical update, Microsoft is pushing out the new version of Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer 7, to anyone using the Windows XP operating system or higher. We anticipate this will occur in early November. This new browser version may affect some Blackboard users, especially when using Blackboard’s text boxes to add announcements, post to discussions, etc. To remedy or prevent any potential issues, Blackboard users should add the Blackboard web address to the list of trusted web sites in their Internet Explorer browser. Below are step-by-step instructions for doing so. Click here to download a Microsoft Word document with these instructions.

| From within Internet Explorer, click on the tools icon (or go to Tools à Internet Options).

|
Click on the Security Tab and select "Trusted Sites". Click on the "Sites" button.
Below "Add this website to the zone:" type http://blackboard.hartford.edu. Click on the Add button. Note: Be sure that the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone checkbox is deselected. Click Close. If you require assistance, please call the Computer Support Hotline at 768-5999. |
If these steps do not remedy your issues or if other issues persist, try using a different browser.
