FCLD to Offer Two Days Blackboard Seminars
August 19 and August 20, 2008

From time to time, FCLD offers a summer institute. This past August, the Faculty Center for Learning Development offered two days of seminars on a variety of Blackboard and eLearning topics for instructors interested in learning techniques and strategies that have proven successful for stimulating and engaging students in the online environment. Here is a description of that program.

Day One - Getting Started with Blackboard

Day Two: Beyond Blackboard Basics

  9:00 a.m. Assessing Student Learning: Online Tests & Surveys
10:30 a.m. Using Blackboard's Online Gradebook
11:30 p.m. Tying it All Together:  Program Assessment and Blackboard
12:00 p.m. Lunch
 1:00 p.m. Paperless Assignments from A to Z:  Creating, Submitting, and Grading Online (covers Digital Dropbox, Assignment Tool, and MS Word Reviewing)
 2:00 p.m. Engaging Learners with Digital Recordings: YouTube, Podcasts & MP3s
 3:00 p.m. “London Calling” Live Chat and the Collaboration Tools
 4:00 p.m. Blackboard Building Blocks:  What do you want from Tomorrow’s Blackboard?
