Faculty Guide and Blackboard Orientation

Blackboard is a Course Management Tool that provides you with a ready-made course template so you can put your courses on the Internet without having to be a computer programmer.  It also has useful Internet tools like e-mail and a discussion board built right into it…and even allows you to create quizzes and post grades. This guide is designed to get you started with Blackboard and highlights some key tools and uses for teaching and learning.

The handouts are in both html and Microsoft Word formats. Simply click the (HTML) link to open it in a web page or click the (MS Word) link to get the word format. To save any of these documents to your computer, do the following:

  1. Click onto the hyperlinked MS Word.
  2. You will get two options: Open or Save.
  3. Click "Save" to save a copy of the file to your computer.
  4. Click "Open" to open the file within the browser.
  5. Note: On a MAC, you can only download these files not view them within the browser.
