Curriculum Oversight

The Senate Curriculum Committee was very active this year. In addition to the usual curricular requests were the following items of interest:

• Several programs changed their names:

• Legal Studies ð Paralegal Studies
• Interactive Information Technology (IIT) ð Multimedia Web Design and Development (MWD²)
• Rhetoric, Language, and Culture (RLW) ð Rhetoric, Language and Professional Writing (RPW)
• M.Ed in Deaf Education: Aural Habilitation and Education of Hearing Impaired Children ð M.Ed : Aural Habilitation and Education of Hearing Impaired Children

• Two programs were eliminated:

• MIS major in Barney (the minor will remain)
• PTW major in A&S (reorganized and incorporated in RPW)

• New programs established:

• Several minors in Engineering Technology (CETA)
• A series of mock trial format courses were added in University Studies

• The committee revised the format of the Curriculum Change Form (Bluesheet)

• A subcommittee was appointed to review and revise the Curriculum Change Form instructions

• The Senate Curriculum Committee webpage was reorganized and several instructional pages were added.
