Let’s talk…
Student Questions/CRW Answers

Q: I’m afraid to come see you. Are CRW consultants really critical?
A: CRW consultants are friendly and helpful. Our relationship with you is collaborative, not authoritarian.

Q: Do I have to come in a certain number of times?
A: It’s up to you. You can come in once…You can come in once in a while…Or you can come in often. It depends on your needs and what you are working on.

Q: I need help selecting a topic for my research paper. Can I come in with nothing written?
A: You sure can! CRW will assist you at all stages of the writing process – the "generating ideas" stage is just as important as the drafting stage. Feel free to come in with just yourself.

Q: I am a good writer. Isn’t CRW only for "struggling" writers?
A: CRW is for all students, including skilled writers who want to refine their writing style. All writers need readers. A CRW consultant will be your "reader" to give you a fresh perspective on your writing – especially helpful when you’ve already reviewed your paper for the "umpteenth" time!

Q: May I drop off my paper for CRW to proofread?
A: Sorry, but we like to read through your paper with you and offer suggestions for revision as we discuss your ideas. Editing and proofreading then become a part of this collaborative effort, one that needs your full participation.
