To welcome you to the graduate program in Communication at the University of Hartford and to help you get started, we hold an orientation session for new students at the beginning of the academic year. An on-line orientation session is also available to learn more about graduate study at the University of Hartford. Graduate Overview

Designed to provide students with essential information that they need to do well in the program, the orientation covers topics such as:

  • program requirements
  • thesis and comprehensive exam options
  • the role of seminars in graduate school

  • scholarly research and professional projects
  • opportunities for conference presentations

Required for new graduate students, attendance is also strongly recommended for current students who have earned less than 9 credits, non-matriculated students, and others who would like more information about graduate classes, the program in Communication and how to succeed in graduate school.

Orientation is held the week before the first day of classes in the fall term. Check the events page of our website for the date and location of this year’s orientation session.
