School of Communication to Host Advertising Competition May 3, 2008

The regional competition of the American Advertising Federation's National Student Advertising Competition will be held at the University of Hartford on Saturday, May 3, 2008. The event brings together teams of students from colleges and universities in New England who will compete to win in the district and advance to the national competition in June. Each team will present its integrated marketing communication campaign developed for this year's client, AOL, to a panel of industry professionals. The School of Communication's team will be among the presenters.

The event will take place in Gengras Student Union on Saturday, May 3, 2008. School of Communication students and other members of the campus community are invited to attend to support our advertising competition team. Our team presents at 11:35-11:55am in the South Cafeteria. The other teams presenting are: Johnson & Wales University (10:25-10:45), Roger Williams University (11:00-11:20), Emerson College (12:10-12:30), Boston College (1:25-1:45), Boston University (2:00-2:20), and Quinnipiac University (2:35-2:55). The closing ceremonies and presentation of awards takes place in the South Cafeteria at 4:15.

The Graduate Student Awards and Research Symposium May 12, 2008

The School of Communication Graduate Student Awards and Research Symposium will be held Monday, May 12, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Rotunda of the Gray Conference Center.

Details
The event features a graduate student poster session, and an awards ceremony for outstanding achievements by graduate students. All School of Communication graduate students are invited to the event. Refreshments will be served.
