Congress and the Legislative Process

Spring 2002

Tuesday and Thursday 1:30-2:45, Gengras G

If you like laws and sausages, you should never watch either one being made.

Not for the weak of heart or weak of stomach. This course is an in depth examination of the American law making process. We will explore many aspects of Congressional politics, including theories of representation, the committee system, the role of interest groups, and congressional elections. The class will be conducted primarily as a seminar with some structured activity.
