Applying
For An Internship: The Steps Involved
1. Decide how the internship will fit into your
program. Discuss with your Faculty Internship Advisor to learn about eligibility,
requirements, and process for receiving credit.
2. Schedule an appointment (X4287) to meet with
a Career Counselor to review your resume and discuss
your internship development strategies - learn about
the resources available to assist you with your search;
explore the on-line, self-service Internship Database;
become familiar with strategies useful in developing
and researching internships, including: networking,
cold calling, informational interviewing, business etiquette,
interviewing tips and procedures, making employer contact,
on-line searching...
3.
Participate in a mock interview (optional). You will
be expected to send a thank you note following each
interview. If you need assistance, please visit Career
Services for samples and guidance or review our online
resources.
You
are expected to be an active participant in your internship
search. The Career Services Office is not a placement agency for Experiential Education and does not guarantee internships.
