Federal Work-Study Employment
Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a form of financial aid
and offers part-time employment both on and off campus.
To be eligible for FWS, you must first complete a Financial
Aid Free Student Application Form (FAFSA). Your eligibility
for financial aid is determined by the University of
Hartford's Financial Aid office. FWS assignments are
made at the Work-Study Job Fair held in the Gengras
Student Union. After the job fair, assignments can be
made at the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Your total allowable FWS amount is specified in your
financial aid award letter. Your earnings may not exceed
your award. You are paid an hourly rate and receive
a pay check every two weeks. Schedules and responsibilities
are discussed with the immediate supervisor. All FSW
students may work a maximum of 20 hours per week during
the academic year.
For a listing of Work Study positions available, or
for any questions you might have regarding the Work-Study
programs, visit the Financial Aid office in the Bates
House. Do not visit Career Services for Work-Study information.
