Thesis Option: Ideal preparation would include a bachelor’s degree in science, such as biology or chemistry, with additional optional undergraduate preparation in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics. An otherwise well-qualified student whose background does not contain all the requisite courses may be considered. All applicants
must take either the GRE or, in lieu of this, submit results from the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) or Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT).
Non-Thesis Option: Ideal preparation would include baccalaureate work in some area of the life or health sciences, such as biology, psychology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or nursing, with additional optional undergraduate preparation in chemistry and biology. An otherwise well-qualified student whose background does not contain all the courses may be considered. For health professionals, results of licensing and/or
certification examinations may be submitted in lieu of GRE scores.

Applicants to the Master’s Program in Neuroscience (Thesis Track) must take either the Graduate Record Examination or, in lieu of this, submit results from the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) or Dental Admissions Test (DAT). Applicants to the Master’s Program in Neuroscience (Non-thesis Track) must take either the Graduate Record Examination or submit results of certification/ licensing examinations.

Deadlines and Dates
Admission into the Neuroscience Program can occur for either the fall or spring semester. Applications for admission are accepted year round but applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible and certainly by mid-July for admission in the fall. Applications should be completed no later than 30 days before the start of either semester. Those applying for
graduate assistantships must have completed an application no later than 4 months before the start of the semester. The admissions committee will review complete applications in the order in which they are received. Students who wish to explore the program prior to formal admission may enroll in up to 6 credits of graduate course work.

• Transcript evaluation – transcript must be evaluated by the World Evaluation Services/WES. Visit: www.wes.org The evaluation at a minimum should indicate that the student has completed the equivalent of four-year bachelor’s degree at a U.S. regionally accredited institution. The $45.00 application fee will be waived to defray the cost of the evaluation.
