Peter Oliver, Ph.D.
is an Associate Professor in the College of Education, Nursing, and
Health Professions, at the University of Hartford. He has been at
the university for 23 years, teaching courses in educational
psychology, human development, and self-awareness. A devout
student of meditation, Peter is
also licensed as a Professional Counselor and has received
intensive foundational training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts
School of Medicine. He
has traveled to Thailand on several occasions and led a study abroad
program for American students in Bangkok, Chiang-Mai, and Chiang-Dao.
Alan Lopez, Ph.D.
has researched and published on society and religion and taught in both
the USA and Asia. In addition to teaching Buddhism in the University of
Connecticut’s Intercultural Studies Program, he has organized and led
several independent study tours to Thailand. Alan has been a guest
lecturer at Thai universities and been the director of a public
education program in Bangkok. He presently lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
