Grand-Guignol: Theatre of Horror

A small group of us at the University of Hartford have been spending our time pondering such things as the best recipes for fake blood (both runny and scabby) where to acquire a (working) guillotine, and how best to wield a scalpel at a moving target. We are part of a course called Popular Theatre, and we are spending the first part of the course researching and faithfully re-presenting this classic horror form for your enjoyment. We will be presenting two horror plays and a farce from the classic Grand-Guignol theatre in Paris, so famous for its terrifying and bloody spectacles that a doctor was on staff to revive spectators who fainted…. Over 16’s only, please.
