Recommendations
It is recommended that SOC 110 be taken before the end of the sophomore year; SOC 242 and 343 before the end of the junior year, and SOC 440 and SOC 418 in the senior year. Except for SOC110, core courses are not offered every semester: SOC 242 and SOC 440 are usually offered in the fall semester. SOC 343 and SOC 418 are usually spring semester courses. Most elective courses are scheduled on a regular basis, but NOT every semester. All prospective majors should consult with department advisors to plan their coursework in sociology.
