Welcome!

Professional writers convey complex information to experts and non-experts by writing, designing, and editing print and electronic documents, including brochures, reports, proposals, manuals, and websites.

The University of Hartford’s Rhetoric and Professional Writing (RPW) program has a flexible curriculum that allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in writing while also acquiring expertise in other fields through an additional major or minor, for example, information technology, engineering, politics and government, history, communications, life sciences, social sciences, business, criminal justice, and the humanities.

Many classes are 15 or fewer students, which allows instructors to give students individual attention and instruction.

RPW students master key writing concepts that help them succeed in other university classes as well as in the workplace, and they have access to a variety of internship opportunities, which can be tailored to their needs.
