What is vegetarianism? |
|
|
|
By
definition, vegetarianism encompasses the practice of following plant-based
diets (fruits, vegetables, etc.), with or without the inclusion of dairy
products or eggs, and with the exclusion of all meat. Abstention from
by-products of animal slaughter, such as animal-derived rennet and gelatin,
may also be practiced. To me…
vegetarianism is a lifestyle choice much like a religion. Vegetarianism
defines who I am. It dictates not only what I eat but what I wear, what
products I use, the institutions I support and basically the way I think and
see the world. |

Why take on a vegetarian lifestyle? |
|
|
|
There are
many reasons why one may take on a vegetation diet: ·
Upbringing ·
Health concerns ·
Protection of animals/ animal rights / cruelty-free living ·
Religion ·
Personal preference Being a
vegetarian does not only benefit your own personal physical and perhaps
spiritual health, it also benefits the animals which by not consuming you are
saving. Being vegetarian not only ensures that the cruel meat industries has
less business which prolongs their reign of terror over these animals, it
also promotes animal rights and motivates the movement to further end the
injustice. This website focuses
on vegetarian lifestyle as a way to lead a cruelty-free lifestyle and
encourage the protection of animals and promoting animal rights; however, all
of the reasons listed above are great reasons for taking on this loving and
caring life changing path. |
