My research focuses on cognitive assessment especially as it
relates to the validity of new assessment instruments. As the cognitive
assessment industry expands and new tools are being marketed with ever
increasing frequency it is important to make judgments regarding utility and
purpose of these instruments. Furthermore, I enjoy researching executive functions as they
relate to the learning process. For example, what role, if any, does memory
play in a child’s ability to master reading skills? Finally, I am interested in the application of psychology,
and specifically school psychology, worldwide. It is important to understand
others’ perspective of psychology in order to gain better understanding of
similarities and differences of individuals and groups.
