PictureDuring the fall of 1994, an informational was held at the University of Connecticut. The ladies from the University of Hartford that attended returned and began an interest group. Out of the numerous ladies that were in the interest group only five made it to National Interviews and three continued and completed the orientation process.

The three interested ladies had many obstacles to overcome besides administrative issues to become recognized. The blizzard of 1996 prevented the ladies from commencing the orientation process. Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. had already lost one sister to inclement weather and was not willing to put these ladies at risk.

The night before their second attempt, one of the interested ladies father had a heartache. However, with the blessing of her father, they began they journey to sisterhood the following morning. On March 23, 1996, finally a new chapter was born. Luanda Cavaco, Jennifer Billings, and Aida Sanchez were welcomed into the sisterhood the morning of Lambda Theta Alpha's Banquet, which marked twenty-one years of Sisterhood.

After one year building it's foundation, Beta Alpha expanded with the addition of four new sisters on May 3, 1997, our first line. Beta Alpha Chapter had doubled it's size within one year! But that was not enough! There was a growing interest at Trinity College so Beta Alpha embarked on a journey to encompass Trinity College into it's family. On March 28, 1999, five new sisters were born at Trinity College and three new sisters at the University of Hartford, including Hartford College for Women, our second and longest line.

The sisters decided to invest some time within the chapter and put a temporary halt on expansion. By the Spring 2001, with the sucessful graduation of several sisters, we decided it was time to expand further. On March 26, 2001, three ladies became part of Beta Alpha, our third line, and on November 2, 2001, one more lady, our fourth line, and first fall line, successfully entered our chapter. The following fall, our fifth line, of three new sisters, became part of Beta Alpha on November 22, 2002.  Our sixth line, which had two ladies, joined the sisterhood on March 31, 2003.  The next year, on April 18, 2004, line seven came to be with the crossing of three new sisters. On April 9, 2005, line eight, a strong solo became a sister. On April 14th, 2007 we welcomed our ninth line consisting of three new sisters.

... and the legend continues.
