Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication studies honor society nationally accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies. Lambda Pi Eta is also the official communication studies honorary of the National Communication Association. The organization has over 300 active chapters at colleges and universities across the Unites States and worldwide. The University of Hartford is home to the Alpha Beta Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta and the Communication Honor Society. The membership of the University of Hartford Communication Honor Society is made up of outstanding communication students in their first years of academic pursuit. The Greek letters Λ (lambda), Π (pi), and Η (eta), symbolize what Aristotle described in his book Rhetoric as the three modes of persuasion: Logos meaning logic, Pathos referring to emotion, and Ethos defined as character credibility and ethics. |
