President's Advisory Committee on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Issues
The University of Hartford aspires to be a welcoming and comfortable living and learning environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and to all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender visitors to campus.
Within that context, President Walter Harrison has established the President's Advisory Committee on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues. This committee shall:
Monitor the community climate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender faculty, staff, students and alumni--as well as visitors to campus--and suggest areas for study or improvement.
Propose University policy for the President and Board of Regents that ensures a safe and respectful campus environment for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Encourage and promote free discussion regarding sexual orientation.
Serve in an advisory capacity to faculty, staff, students and alumni concerning curricular issues, all-campus programming, and policy considerations, which address lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender concerns.
Be a resource for faculty, staff, and students for human resource issues, referring individuals to the appropriate offices on campus to handle specific issues in accordance with standing University policies and procedures.
